DEV LOG: If You Kan, Ban
Deep Work
A part of the mastery process is knowing how to split large tasks into subtasks.
The KanBan board is a structure that is flexible enough to evolve, yet rigid enough to not be brittle.
If a finished project is green and the start is red, the KanBan is the gradient between.
The simplest KanBan will have three (maybe even two) columns: To Do, Doing, and Done.
A few additional columns that increase the velocity of projects:
Resources (helpful external links)
Waiting On (something outside of immediate control, in some other person’s purview)
Someday/Maybe (tasks not required right now for the project, but good to have)
Other News
All writing is a form of reification (edit: especially Twitter)
I went ahead and culled any subscribers on my Substack who weren’t reading these dev logs. No need to pollute inboxes, after all! (edit: If you can, ban (lmao))
ars longa, vita brevis
